High drama at the London College of Communications on Friday when Julian Rodriguez, Dean of the School of Media, was apparently ungallantly escorted out of the building. Nobody was willing to explain the circumstances when I called, but it follows the arrival of Sandra Kemp as head of the college last year, which is part of the University of the Arts, London. Kemp is implementing a radical reorganisation of the budget and seeking 37 redundancies among lecturers, which I gather has not made her terribly popular. And now this. Protests are being planned ...
Gary Naylor resigned shortly after.
The causes behind these measures are still to be clarified, but it is known that Rodriguez was escorted off the premises due to Gross Misconduct.It is a shame Julian Rodriguez didn't listen to what we had to say and was so stubbornly adamant on sticking with his management pals during occupation and action times.

ReplyDeleteI used to work at LCC College of Communications in Elephant & Castle in SE1 6SB until 27th July 2010 after I resigned from my Front of House Catering Manager job after 2.5yrs. I have been a victim of bullying from the same manager Simon Gibbons for the last 2.5yrs. I want to print my story because I believe other staff that I have left behind are still going through the same bullying that I did everyday for 2.5yrs. When I took out the 1st Grievance back in Nov 2009, I was warned that if Alister John (the client) found out that my own GM was bullying that Baxterstorey would lose the contract so I stupidly kept my mouth shut because I was told I would be let go and I was scared that Baxterstorey would fire me for complaining even though (Simon Gibbons) my own GM who made my life a living hell by bullying me every single day.
On top of everything else that was going on, I found out my own Supervisor was been paid more money that me and go figure my GM knew about it all along.
I finally gave up the fight my doctor said if I stay working with that man I will end up having a nervous breakdown, so on 27th July 2010 after giving notice to my employer Baxterstorey based at UAL College of Communications in Elephant & Castle.
I left thinking that was it I would never have to talk or deal with Simon Gibbons again because I gave him what he wanted, I gave notice and resigned. But that wasn’t the way it played out….He did his homework to find out where I my new job was, all I told him was that Baxterstorey had lost the contract few weeks previous worked. He did his homework and contacted my new job and sent them 2 x emails first one saying I had been fired from my job for counting stock wrong. And second saying I was blackmailing Baxterstorey and neither one is true as I have proof. I am shocked that he contacted my new job and tried to have me fired. I want this man shamed and named. His name is Simon Gibbons and he’s the catering manager at LCC College of communications in London, SE1 6SB.
Just before I left I was in the process of taking out a 2nd grievance against Simon Gibbons yet again for Bullying and decided enough was enough I refused to take it any more.
I don’t want money I want this man named & shamed.

Things are going to get worse so students beware - it is now 2 weeks until college begins and AL's still do not know if they have any teaching.
