'The fields of Athenry'

(to to the tune of the Irish ballad)

By a lonely college wall I heard a woman calling
"Sandra, you have ta'en my job away.
The staff have been maligned
And Paul Simpson has resigned
Now maybe every dog will have its day."

Chorus:

Low lies morale at LCC
Where once we saw the free spirits fly
But Sandra's cracked the whip
Our reputation now has slipped
We have to sit and watch our courses die.

In the Upper Street cafe I heard a young girl wailing
"Woe is me, my course is being ditched
My tutor's got the sack
And there's no point looking back
'Cos the smiling viper's got us all well stitched."

Outside the 4th floor doors heard a tutor crying
"What has happened to our hopes and dreams?
Fifteen courses now have gone
And I'm bound for moving on
Before the place is splitting at the seams."
